Hampton Lions Club celebrates 20th Anniversary
Hampton Lions Club celebrated its 20th Anniversary Saturday evening October22, 2005 at a Dinner held at the Hampton Senior Resource Centre. Head Table Guests included Mayor James Hovey of Hampton, Rob Moore MP for Fundy Royal,
Bev Semple District Governor of Lions Club (District 41-0 that includes the Northern part of the State of Maine and the western half of the Province of New Brunswick) George Tays Current President of Hampton Lions Club and Paul
von Richter, Master of Ceremonies. The charter Members of the Club who attended were recognized. The founding President was awarded a lifetime membership in Lions Club.
Mayor Hovey brought words of greeting and congratulations from the Town of Hampton and Rob Moore MP for Fundy Royal
spoke about the great work that Lions Club does locally and around the world. He noted that the Lions Club sets an example for all of us to follow in helping our fellow man. Rob presented a certificate commemorating the 20th Anniversary to President George Tays and also a Canadian flag for the Club. Rob also presented a Certificate to Beverly Semple, District Governor on her election for 2005-2006.
Past District Governor Larry Barton also spoke to the gathering.
