New Exhibits Unveiled at Fundy National Park
September 9, 2009 -- Alma, New Brunswick -- MP Rob Moore was pleased to attend the unveiling of Fundy National Park of Canada's newest outdoor exhibit at Dickson Falls, as well as the launch of new exhibits at Point Wolfe's Shiphaven Trail and Lookoff.
"The new exhibits are wonderful examples of how our government is protecting the natural and cultural heritage of Fundy National Park," said MP Moore, "The project inspires us to make choices that support healthy ecosystems and demonstrates how each one of us can make a difference."
The Dickson Falls and the Point Wolfe Lookout exhibits are the latest in a series of enhancements to visitor experience in Fundy National Park of Canada. Along with the Hueston Brook exhibit, which opened in 2008, they are part of the multi-year Fundy National Park EcoIntegrity Project, which was launched in July 2007.
The project creates unique opportunities for visitors to understand and appreciate the park, and to experience a deeper connection to its distinctive, beautiful landscape.
"This government understands the environmental, cultural and economic potential of our national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas. That is why we want to encourage Canadians and visitors from abroad to get out and enjoy our national treasures," added MP Moore.
With its dramatic landscapes and views of the Bay of Fundy's world famous tides, Fundy National Park of Canada has been a major destination for visitors since its establishment in 1948. It is part of a system of national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas recognized as one of the finest and most extensive in the world. In keeping and maintaining Fundy National Park, Parks Canada works to ensure that Canada's cultural and natural heritages are presented and protected for the enjoyment, education and appreciation of all Canadians, today and in the future.
