Federal Government Funds Riverview Recreational Facilities
August 12, 2009 -- Riverview, New Brunswick -- MP Rob Moore today welcomed new federal investments for improvements to important recreational structures and facilities in Riverview.
"Our government’s contribution will create construction jobs and encourage economic activity right away, while providing those living in Riverview with better facilities in which to play, relax and connect with their community," said MP Moore.
The Government of Canada is contributing more than $230,000 for improvements to recreational infrastructure in Riverview, through the Recreational Infrastructure Canada Program (RInC).
The project involves enhancements to several outdoor amenities, renovations to the Kinsmen Recreation Centre, and upgrades to aquatic facilities.
"The Government of Canada, through the Economic Action Plan, is helping to keep Canada’s economy on track by investing in upgrading recreational facilities, creating local construction jobs and stimulating economic development," said MP Moore.
Rob Moore is the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and the MP for Fundy Royal.
