The official Opening of the Albert County Shipyard Heritage Park
August 12th, 2006 -- Shipyard Heritage Park -- The official Opening of the Albert County Shipyard Heritage Park took place Saturday August 12th 2006 at 1:00 pm. Rob Moore MP brought greetings from the Canadian Government who had invested $102,285 in
the project. Dr. Mary Majka who spearheaded this project was
recognized and thanked by the Hon. Hermenegilde Chaiasson, the
Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick. The Honourable Wayne Steeves MLA
for Albert was also on hand for the event.
This Park features exhibits and interpretive panels designed to
celebrate the community's shipbuilding heritage. Located halfway
between Fundy National Park and the Hopewell Rocks, the community
hopes this attraction will encourage people to stay longer in the
region.
