St. Martins' new 4 Season Complex to boost local tourism

July 3 -- ST. MARTINS -- St. Martins' 4 Season Complex and a large crowd of over 300 celebrated its official opening today. Rob Moore, Member of Parliament for Fundy Royal represented the Minister of ACOA, Premier Bernard Lord, Jim Huttges, Mayor of St. Martins, Senator Noel Kinsella Speaker of the Canadian Senate along with other representatives of the Provincial and neighbouring Municipal Governments were in attendance.

"This facility is the result of collaboration and partnership between all levels of goverernment for the benefit of Canadians," said MP Moore on behalf of the Government of Canada. "A strong, vibrant tourism industry in this region is important for job creation, opportunities and economic growth for Atlantic Canadians."

The 4 Season Complex will enable the community to host year-round activities and programming and will help increase the number of visitors to the Village of St. Martins.

The project was supported through a $702,398 investment from ACOA's Strategic Community Investment Fund and through a $300,000 investment from the Province of New Brunswick through the Regional Development Corporation. These investments permitted the Village of St. Martins to undertake site preparation, landscaping, construction, engineering and the installation of a well and septic system for the four-season, multi-purpose facility.
