Hampton Celebrates Revitalized Town Square

June 30, 2011 -- Hampton New Brunswick, -- The Honourable Rob Moore, Member of Parliament for Fundy Royal, took part in a ceremony celebrating the opening of the revitalized Hampton Town Square. Also present at the announcement was the Honourable Trevor Holder, New Brunswick Minister of Wellness, Culture and Sport; the Honourable Bev Harrison, MLA for Hampton-Kings; and His Worship Ken Chorley, Mayor of Hampton.

"This area is a hub of local activity and community life. It is a place where the people of Hampton can come together and can enjoy the beauty of their town," said MP Moore. "It will be a gathering spot for people in the community, and with this revitalization it will add to the quality of life of the people of Hampton."

Our federal government committed over $48,000 towards the construction of a children's playground in the revitalized Town Square, through the RInC (Recreation Infrastructure Canada) Fund in August 2009. The RInC Fund is granted to local projects in order to support the upgrading and renewal of recreational facilities in communities, as well as to encourage increased participation in physical activity and community building.
