Rob Moore Participates in Groundbreaking at Moncton VISION Home
June 25, 2009 -- Moncton, New Brunswick -- MP Rob Moore was pleased to help mark the beginning of construction of the Moncton VISION demonstration home, an energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly home to be built in Moncton, New Brunswick.
"The Government of Canada is proud to support the Moncton VISION Home," said MP Moore. "This project gives people in this region an opportunity to see first-hand how we can create beautiful, healthy homes while conserving energy and resources and reducing pollutant emissions."
The Moncton VISION home is one of 15 national winners in the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation’s (CMHC) EQuilibrium competition. Launched in 2006, CMHC’s Sustainable Housing Demonstration Initiative encourages builders and developers to build the next generation of sustainable housing in Canada.
All EQuilibrium projects will be open to both the general public and professional audiences for tours and then be monitored for performance by CMHC for one year, once occupied.
"I am very glad to congratulate the designers of the Moncton VISION home on this occasion, and I look forward to the completion of construction on this home," said Mr. Moore.
Rob Moore is the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and the MP for Fundy Royal.
