Rob Moore Participates in Opening the Phase II Section of the Fundy Trail Parkway
June 18, 2010 -- St. Martins, New Brunswick -- The Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism and Member of Parliament for Fundy Royal, along with Premier Shawn Graham, today joined members of the Fundy Trail Development Authority (FTDA) Inc. in the official opening of the new 4.3 kilometre section of the Fundy Trail Parkway.
"As New Brunswickers, we are fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful scenery and one of the world's most stunning coastlines," said Minister Moore. "Our government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, is proud to contribute to a project that helps showcase one of our country's greatest tourist attractions."
Also participating in the event were Honourable Keith Ashfield, Minister of National Revenue, Minister of ACOA and Minister for the Atlantic Gateway; Dr. Frank Wilson, president of Fundy Trail Parkway Inc.; and area mayors.
The federal and provincial governments have invested a total of $20 million in the Fundy Trail Parkway. Upon completion, the Fundy Trail Parkway will provide a scenic coastal link road between Saint John, Sussex and Moncton.
