Rob Moore Delivers Remarks to the Albert County Chamber of Commerce
June 12, 2010 -- Albert County, NB -- The Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of Small Business and Tourism and MP for Fundy Royal, was pleased to speak to the Albert County Chamber of Commerce. The event was hosted at the Broadleaf Guest Ranch.
Minister Moore outlined the success of Canada's Economic Action Plan in New Brunswick, stating "In total, 32 projects under the Economic Action Plan across the province got underway quickly last year, thanks to a federal-provincial investment of more than $48 million. Thirty-two projects that helped create jobs and economic activity, right here at home."
Our government has worked tirelessly to ensure that small businesses and entrepreneurs have the best opportunity to succeed. Our Business Credit Availability Program assists creditworthy businesses, and our government has raised the maximum loan amount under the Canada Small Business Financing Program. We have also created a new vehicle and Equipment Financing Program specifically to help smaller businesses succeed.
Minister Moore also pointed out that "The Canadian Federation of Independent Business says optimism among its members in this province is almost as strong as before the recession. And I'm sure you will be proud to know that our province Business Barometer index is higher than the Canadian average."
The actions of our government are ensuring that New Brunswick is becoming a successful centre for business.
