May 21, 2011 -- Alma, New Brunswick -- The Honourable Rob Moore, Member of Parliament for Fundy Royal, today unveiled a plaque recognizing Fundy National Park as the core area within the Fundy Biosphere Reserve.
"The installation of this plaque at the newly established Butland Look-off in Fundy National Park, a breathtaking site overlooking the beautiful Bay of Fundy, recognizes Fundy National Park as the core location within the UNESCO designated Fundy Biosphere Reserve," said Mr. Moore. "Fundy National Park is one of those special protected areas where visitors come from across the region, country and the world to spend some time and find out more about our special corner of Canada."
Throughout 2011, Parks Canada will be highlighting 100 years of world leadership in conservation, education and visitor experience programs. Parks Canada invites Canadians to come celebrate by visiting Parks Canada places across the country.
Fundy National Park is part of a network of national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas managed by Parks Canada that is recognized as one of the finest and most extensive in the world. Through this nation-wide network of protected areas Parks Canada works to ensure Canada's cultural and natural heritage are presented and protected for the enjoyment, education and appreciation of all Canadians, today and in the future.
