Rob Moore is the Guest Speaker for the Sussex Downtown Business Association

May 18, 2010 -- Sussex, NB -- Rob Moore, MP for Fundy Royal and Minister of Small Business and Tourism, was pleased to address the Sussex Downtown Business Association at their Annual General Meeting.
Minister Moore praised local business operators, stating "You truly are the unsung heroes of the recent economic downturn. The economic challenges of the past year have not stopped you from seizing opportunities and remaining positive."
"Part of the mission of the Sussex Downtown Business Association is to create a unique business environment that is welcoming for customers," continued Minister Moore. "My mission is to ensure that your members pay less tax, have access to affordable financing options, and spend more time on their business and less time filling out government forms."
In addition to delivering over $200 billion in tax relief to Canadians since forming government four years ago, we have also cut the small business tax rate to 11% and raised the small business threshold to $500,000. Our government has also made new technology more affordable with the 100% capital cost allowance and the elimination of many tariffs on imported machinery. Our government is proud to stand with small business owners and entrepreneurs.
