Members of the Boys and Girls Club sell their MP a hand
Rob Moore participates in launch of Riverview "Joining Hands" Campaign
May 9, 2009 -- Riverview, New Brunswick -- MP Rob Moore was pleased to take part in the launch of the Riverview Boys & Girls Club's "Joining Hands" Campaign today. Mr. Moore delivered remarks at the event and toured the Club's facilities.
This year is the second year the "Joining Hands" campaign has been held. While last year's campaign raised $7,000, this year's target is $12,000. Besides raising funds, the campaign also aims at raising awareness of the Club's programs.
The Riverview Boys & Girls Club offers numerous programs for children and youth from the ages of 5 to 16, providing them a safe environment where they can form relationships, build confidence, and develop skills to realize their potential. Numerous children have benefitted from the Club's programs during its 22 years in Riverview.
Throughout the campaign, participating local businesses will be selling paper hands for the Club, and on June 6, at the end of the campaign, the purchased hands will be strung out in a single line. The Club's goal is that enough hands will be sold so that the line reaches from the Boys & Girls Club to Riverview Town Hall.
Rob Moore is the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice and the MP for Fundy Royal.
