Minister Rob Moore Attends Economic Development Panel
March 26, 2010 -- Merrickville, Ontario -- The Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism, today joined the Member of Parliament for Leads-Grenville, Gord Brown, in Merrickville to attend the Leeds-Grenville Economic Development Panel Series.
The sector panel series is being held to communicate important opportunities for small business and tourism, while assisting with the development of future strategies for economic development.
The panel series focuses on small business and business improvement areas.
"Small businesses and tourism are key drivers of Canada’s economy. By supporting these vital sectors, our government is helping to create jobs, generate wealth, encourage innovation and establish new opportunities for success in every region across the country," said Minister Moore.
"This panel series in Merrickville provides an excellent forum for our government to communicate its future strategies, while allowing people in the community to give us important feedback," Minister Moore added.
The daylong event was held in Merrickville’s community centre. In addition to a message from Minister Moore on small business and tourism, other speakers spoke on benefits for the self-employed, employer training incentive programs, and practices for business improvement.
Rob Moore is the Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism and the MP for Fundy Royal.
