Hon. Rob Moore meets with stakeholders to discuss seniors' priorities, jobs and economic growth

January 25, 2012 -- Quispamsis, New Brunswick -- The Honourable Rob Moore, MP for Fundy Royal, Minister of State for Seniors Alice Wong and MP Rodney Weston took part in pre-budget roundtable discussions today with seniors' stakeholders. The event was part of a series of cross-Canada consultations on how best to ensure that Canada's economy continues to produce jobs and growth in a difficult global economy.

"Ensuring our economic growth and creating jobs now and in the future remains our government's number-one priority," said Minister of State Wong. "We want to hear from Canadians about moving ahead with Budget 2012, the next phase of Canada's Economic Action Plan."

"I am pleased that Minister of State Wong is here to consult our community," said Rob Moore.

Close to 20 stakeholders attended today's discussions providing a wide cross section of seniors groups and advocacy groups that provided helpful recommendations for Budget 2012.
