Minister Rob Moore Holds Stakeholder Consultations
January 25, 2010 -- Sussex, New Brunswick -- Today, Minister Rob Moore held a successful stakeholder consultation in Sussex, New Brunswick.
The federal government is holding economic roundtable sessions with business and community leaders to hear their views about the development and implementation of Canada’s Economic Action Plan and future opportunities to maintain a strong Canadian economy.
"In preparing the next budget, we will stay the course with our existing Economic Action Plan, and while this plan is short-term, it will have a positive, long-term impact on communities, workers and businesses," said Minister Moore. "We will continue to build on our strong record of responsible fiscal management and setting priorities that are making the difference by achieving significant results," Minister Moore added.
The consultation process allows the government and Canadians to look towards the future and determine what steps should be taken to improve the competitiveness of the Canadian economy. The government is seeking input from Canadians across the country to ensure that Canada continues to attract investment and create jobs once the recovery is achieved and the Economic Action Plan is complete.
The government is asking Canadians for their views on these issues as well as any other ideas they care to submit via This Webpage
The Government of Canada will complete a series of consultations across the country in preparation for the federal budget, which is scheduled to be tabled on March 4.
