Minister Addresses Tourism Stakeholders

January 19, 2011 – Kamloops, British Columbia – The Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of Small Business and Tourism and MP for Fundy Royal, addressed a room of tourism stakeholders at the Sun Peaks Mountain Resort in Kamloops, British Columbia.

Minister Moore highlighted our Government’s many accomplishments for Canadian tourism, including our Government’s development of the Federal Tourism Strategy (FTS). The FTS will allow our Government to work with the tourism sector to increase awareness of Canada abroad, facilitate access to Canada for visitors, encourage the development of tourism products, and foster a strong workforce.

The Minister also pointed out that our Government has nearly doubled our tourism investments in Canada’s Economic Action Plan, which also includes an additional $40 million for the Canadian Tourism Commission for advertising in priority tourism markets.
